Wednesday, March 16, 2011: UPDATED

Up this morning to try to find a cane before we take the car back.  The first pharmacy didn’t have any canes…in fact, it hardly had anything! I’m surprised it had any medicine or drugs!   The second pharmacy in Gallows Bay had what I needed…it had EVERYTHING!  It even had the plastic shower seat and the ankle brace we were looking for in the beginning.  Should have come here sooner, but we didn’t know the island then.  I’ll have to keep that in mind – Gallows Bay pharmacy is the place to go here!  They had a pretty good selection of canes.  Big ones, ugly ones, a few ok ones (pretty blue like my mustang and one with butterflys).  Some with BIG handles, some with smaller handles.  Finally picked one I liked and of course it had a HUGE handle…so I had to pick another one.  Although I didn’t like the pattern of the one I got (horses) it was better than the golf ball or fishing lure one that Gerald wanted me to get.  He said I should get that in case he needed it!!  I can always have Gerald paint it hot pink and put some flamingos on it in the mean time!  =)  Now I gotta figure out how to use it properly so I don’t break a leg...instead of sprain an ankle!

Stopped and filled the gas tank and took the car back to the rental company. Hated giving that up. Now we are resort bound for sure.  We are going down to the Brew Pub tomorrow afternoon, I have a doctor’s appointment Friday afternoon, plus we have to get to the airport, but it will be cheaper to take a cab than keep the car.  We’ll be keeping Big John busy till we leave!

Came back to the condo and uploaded the videos I took from Off the Wall (both from last night and March1).  Ate some leftovers (imagine that!) and put the last of the frozen chicken in the crock pot. That’s breakfast, lunch & dinner for today, tomorrow and Friday!

Gerald is taking a nap in anticipation of the big show this afternoon at the pool.  Hopefully Charlie will show up.  I’ll try to take some video if I can!

Update:

I was hoping to get some sun in this afternoon before they started playing music at the pool, but by the time we got down there and settled in, Charlie and his friends showed up.  There were a bunch of other people down there too! The normal owners, plus some newbies! It was as crowded as I have ever seen the pool area!

Ruth and Chuck were the first down.  They are renting a place across the court, and have rented it for the same 3 months (January, February and March) for several years.  She took me on a tour since they will be leaving on May 30 and she told us the owner wants to sell, in case we would be interested in purchasing it, or even renting – as long as it’s not during their normal usage time! =)    It is a different floor plan, but I really liked it.  It was decorated nicer, cleaner and in way better condition than our place.  The owner has recently done some renovations, which helped so it looked really nice.   It had a fantastic view as well – and it’s on the 2nd floor! We’ll keep it in mind!

I spoke with some new people on holiday from North Dakota and Minnesota (don’cha no) that got here yesterday.  Nice people…strong accent.  Told them they could keep their melting snow!

I swear these people must be part penguin…that pool water is ICE cold! And they all just DIVE in! It’s the Polar Bear Club! Brrrrrr!  Course the people from North Dakota said this was like a hot tub to them! HA! No way am I getting in though!  I’m only sticking in my foot and doing some exercises to work my foot! ...not getting in past that!

This little girl came down with her grandpa and swam in the pool.  So cute with her diaper swollen and FULL of water, her little Crucian bracelet and ankle bracelet! She just watched, danced and clapped when the songs were over!

More people were coming down.  Then they started bringing drinks and food.

This is Charlie and Gerald.

This is JB…Charlie’s friend, with their girlfriends.

JB has a great voice, and really puts a nice twist on the songs he sings. This is him singing Unchained Melody:

Gerald an Charlie singing Toes: (can't get the video to upload...so i'll put a link in later!)

Would have had more video, but they suddenly decided to do some work and started powering washing stuff on the other side of the pool bar!  Great timing guys!

Charlie and I were both using our iPhones to look up words to songs they forgot!

The sun started going down, and we decided to end the evening.  The last song was Boot Scootin’ Boogie!

This is the boys ending the evening with “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” … they were ALL singing it like it was the best song in the whole world!  Charlie even started to do a little line dance! =)

Back to the condo and it smells yummy….chicken in a crockpot!  Add some rice and DINNER!
